| Bill Cara's Week in Review #39, 2011 Posted: 25 Sep 2011 03:56 PM PDT [7:20pm ET Sunday] This was a remarkable week, one where equity prices were hammered, and the $VIX, $USD and Treasury Bonds soared. Everybody is asking, "Where to from here?" The contrast from the preceding week is stunning. In fact, the last time I saw volatility this extreme in such a compacted period of time was October 1987. Compared to what's happened now, however, that time in 1987 might even be referred to as the 'good old days'. Yes, that's how bad it's been, and the 3-month performance tables show it. |
